Keelings Awarded Irish Institute of Training & Development’s Best L&D Collaboration

Keelings Learning and Development team attended the National Training Awards held by the Irish Institute of Training & Development (IITD) on the 8th April. We were delighted to be chosen from a group of eight shortlisted nominees in Best Learning & Development Collaboration.

The collaboration was a partnership with Balbriggan-Swords Adult Education Service to develop the Aspire General Operative Programme. Our Aspire Programme aims to support Keelings General Operatives by developing their communication, English, digital and interview skills, in order to empower them to progress into more highly skilled roles within our organisation.

This programme has successfully been rolled in 2020 and 2021 with a 3rd programme now started in 2022. The programme has seen 15 of the 16 participants promoted to more highly skilled roles and the retention rate of employees who participated in the Programme is currently 75%.

Well done to Keelings Retail’s Learning & Development Department and Aspire Programme participants. This project demonstrates our company values ‘People’ which outlines that our business and people support and treat each other in a clear, fair and respectful way.
