Origin
Grape seeds have been found in remains of lake dwellings of the Bronze Age in Switzerland and Italy and in tombs of ancient Egypt.

Growing Conditions Required
Grape is now commercially cultivated in warmer regions all over the world, particularly in Western Europe, the Balkans, California, Australia, South Africa, and parts of South America.

Handling Requirements
Eat grapes right away or store grapes unwashed in a clear plastic bag separate from other fruit and vegetables in your refrigerator.

Irish Season
Grapes are not commercially grown in Ireland in the temperate climate.  They require a warmer climate to grow to maturity.

Eating Experience
Grapes are best eaten fresh and on there own.  They are juicy and sweet.  Varieties can be 'seeded' (with pips) or 'seedless' (without pips).

The Healthy Option
Grapes are a uniquely nourishing, strengthening, cleansing and regenerative food, useful in convalescence, for anaemia, for fatigue and for disorders such as arthritis, gout and rheumatism.

Interesting Fact
Total World Production is about 65 million tonnes, most of this is made into wine and some of it is dried into raisins.
